Recently, Mark Zuckerberg shared a picture of 11 year old Tayo, a Nigerian child who founded “Spike Rush”, a game he built by himself.
Just like Tayo, there are a lot of other children who have strong ideas and dream of a great future, but every day, they are exposed to daily challenges which threaten their dreams– Child Marriage, Child Trafficking, Child Labour, Child Abuse and the likes. Some limited to the streets, as hawkers, street beggars, or laborers.
But then it all comes back to us because to empower a child is to develop a nation. Every nation’s first priority should be to nurture and educate its children because, truly ‘The Future World, is in the hands of the Children’.
Ms. Malala Yousafzai (2014 Nobel Peace Prize awardee) reminds that we all as a nation, need to keep advancing in providing opportunities that has an important effect on all children–such opportunities which are meant to be meaningful enough to allow them to learn and gain the mindsets and skills that would empower them to be free, develop themselves, their communities and the world.
For the betterment and advancement of the children, the Child Hero Empowerment Campaign birthed its monthly Child Development Workshop, and on the 5th Month running, we will set out to give the children a more practical learning ground on the exciting art of cake making, which happens to be a highly lucrative business today!
“Since we can’t undermine the relevance of time and accompanying chance; the rail of CHILD HERO EMPOWERMENT CAMPAIGN berths this month at the doorsteps of ARROW OF GOD ORPHANAGE in Lagos to further entrench these values of education; self-reliance and sustainability as previously exemplified in her penultimate four outings.
The month of September is distinctive in discipline and charisma as it features training both minds and hearts to be active in everyday life pursuit. This became imperative because the staggering economic status-quo is one that can only be enabled by participation of artisans; technocrats and all well-meaning.
Taking into perspective the roles the immediate young generation has to play; catering lesson is adopted as part of a substantial measure to this ‘future’. Advertently, this step we hope would help fashion these youngsters into titans of goodly exploits” - Babatunde Segun Odubanwo (Public rel. Officer, CHEC)
