Great News! The wait is over!!!
“CHILDREN OF THE STREETS”, the movie from the winning story of the Peregrine Reads 2015 #ChildHero short story competition will now be shown regularly on your favourite Television Channel ONTV, available on Dstv, Cable Network and other Television outlets.
Watch out for it tomorrow (14th Aug, 2016) @5:30 PM and subsequently on the station.
The short film brings together a vivid description of what life on the streets is like for the dejected and desolate children who have been denied of love, care, and a decent childhood.
It tells the tale of three imperative characters; “Halima” who lost her mother at a young age of sixteen and recoursed to selling her body for meagre profit to survive, “Aliyu” who had his own share of misfortune growing as a child beggar and little orphaned Samuel who was chased out of the house he had considered as home, into the streets, at a very tender age. What becomes the fate of these unfortunate children?
When children are mistreated, denied of love and care and exposed at a tender age to life threatening circumstances, they are left with no choice than to grow up with an impoverished life pattern. Would they then be blamed for who they become?
