Hey Peregrine Readers,
What are your plans for today? Let’s make it a date!
In the spirit of Children’s Day today, our #CHILDHERO Empowerment campaign for the less-privileged children launches its maiden monthly programme known as “CHILD DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP” (CDW) for the orphaned and less-privileged children.
The #CHILDHERO Empowerment campaign, a Peregrine Reads Initiative is a child awareness campaign aimed at becoming the voice of the less privileged children in the society, by giving them equal privileges that every child deserves to have, of which circumstances have deprived them of.
The project which was birthed in December 2015 is remembered for its Valentine’s Day Funfair which successfully brought together a number of orphanages, public & private schools and organisations in a celebration of love.
Having achieved success with its valentine funfair, the Child Hero Empowerment project is kicking off again to harness creativity, passion, talent, skills and morals in young ones through its Maiden CHILD DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP (CDW) which will take place monthly, bringing on-board a wide range of speakers, thought leaders, creatives, and scholars who are enthusiastic about imparting in the lives of the orphaned and less-privileged children.
The CHILD DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP is tailored towards the development of particular skills every child deserves to acquire on their paths to self-discovery of purpose.
For the purpose of this, the project shall put together varying topics and themes monthly by age and ability, all designed to develop the skill every child needs to become a confident, creative and imaginative child.
At the Child Development Workshop (CDW) sessions, the children will have a chance to meet and learn from well-experienced and learned tutors and experts.
As a benefit to the free learning opportunity the CHILD DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP provides, the children would be given an opportunity to put what they have learned into practical session in order to develop their learning process.
To mark the Children’s’ day celebration in style, the #CHILDHERO Campaign Team will be taking off their first workshop today at the Friends of Jesus Orphanage Home, Badore Ajah (After cooperative villa).
They will be mentoring the children on topics as :
– Creative writing
– Art of spoken word poetry
– Ethics & Values
– Good Morals
– Tips on good living
