Co-founder and chief executive of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg, has overtime been known for making challenging yet inspiring resolutions, some of which are –to meet a new person every day for a year, to write a daily thank-you note, and to wear a tie every day. Over the past week, the 30-year-old billionaire made yet another resolution –to read a book every two weeks in 2015!

He wrote in a Facebook Post “My challenge for 2015 is to read a new book every other week,” he added, “with an emphasis on learning about different cultures, beliefs, histories and technologies.”

Following this, Zuckerberg opened a Facebook page called A Year of Books to document his reading and to enable other users to join the book club. Over 160,000 users have already done so and his first selection of books “The End of Power” had sold out massively on within 24 hours.

Members of the facebook page will have an opportunity to join him on his challenge and read the same books as him, and discuss them in the group’s comment threads.

Moisés Naím’s “The End Of Power” which became the first on his reading list, is a book which explores how the world has moved by giving more power to people, which used to be held by government offices and the military. Shortly after Zuckerberg’s publication, the paperback edition of the book totally sold out on Amazon and is presently one of Amazon’s Top 20 Best Sellers in the book production category!

“I’m excited for my reading challenge. I’ve found reading books very intellectually fulfilling. Books allow you to fully explore a topic and immerse yourself in a deeper way than most media today. I’m looking forward to shifting more of my media diet towards reading books” says Zuckerberg.

Way to go Zuckerberg! 2015 –It’s Books-a-thon!! :D
