I know what Life is made of
Staring at the world through this timeless photograph–
Motionless and transfixed like a statue in an odd pose,
Incessant memories rushing in a warm viscous fluid,
Incessant memories plaguing the mind
This is what Life is made of
As I stare at the world through a timeless photograph–
A sudden jolt of melancholic nostalgia
That fateful night filled with an air of sadness
and excruciating pain that surrounded us
That mournful cry filtering through cracks of the wall
This is what life is made of
As I stare at the world through this timeless photograph–
A spasm of nameless emotions
Of Sadness, Pain, Regret and Depression
This is what Life is made of
As I stare at this timeless photograph–
A distorted perception of reality!

“Like Photographers’ lenses and filters, depression is like a set of camera filters which focus on the darker portions of life and take away the warmth, action and joy from a scene”–Norman Wright
