Ifechukwudeni Odigwe, a well-seasoned poet and spokenword artiste has followed the auspicious trend of expanding the rich horizons of poetry into sensational video pieces.
The poet recently put together a beautiful piece titled ‘Ex-girlfriend’, a spokenword video which he passed deep messages about his struggles with depression, sadness and anxiety. According to the poet, from experience, these negative emotions crept into his life when he gave in to temporary and destructive pleasures.
The reason for his message in the video is because for him, in the world today, many people struggle daily with suicidal thoughts which stem from depression, and quite sadly, a lot of folks do not take this seriously. A lot of people are dying from this mind attack, he says.
There are subtle messages therein which the poet however chose not to divulge just about now, as he wouldn’t want to spoil the fun of the poetic piece, for the love of suspence!
“Heads up! I also spoke of how I came out of this pit, but not in a religious manner. It all had to do with ‘a relationship’. So, sit back, grab a glass of wine, and enjoy this piece from me…”, says poet Ifechukwudeni
