In commemoration of the International Women’s Day, the Niger Delta Commission (NDDC) sets to discover, inspire & celebrate women within the Niger Delta region this year with a stage drama titled, “Little Drops” by Professor Yerima. The drama takes a look at the Niger Delta from the perspective of women– the neglected innocent victims of the war of contradictions in the region.
The drama features Nollywood acts like Joke Silva, Tosan Edremoda-Ugbeye and many more. The stage performance will be happening in Abuja on the 6th of March at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
The stage play will also be performed in Port-hacourt, Benin and Calabar later this month.
Highlighting women development as part of the objectives on the commission, the acting Managing Director of the NDDC, Mrs. Ibim Seminitari noted that, “The NDDC facilitates all-round development of the Niger Delta and its people and the mandate for women development is an aspect that is equally given huge priority with the agency and must not be neglected”.
