Hello readers, It’s the Child Hero Season of back to back projects. There’s been so much plans for the Child Hero 2017 Valentine Funfair, which will be announced on the blog this week. But before then, have you sent in your entry for the Child Hero Story Contest & Film Project?
Just a reminder that we have roughly two weeks to go before the deadline!
If you’re just reading about it, the project is aimed at digging deep into the terrors and dangers faced by the Orphaned and vulnerable children (OVC) in the society, as a way to raise more awareness for their needed love, care, attention and support, and no better way we can do this than through the Media & Film
On its 2nd edition, the Child Hero Empowerment Campaign is calling out to all heroes of children to send in their stories for her Story Contest & Film Project, centered around the theme: ‘ORPHANS – QUEST FOR IDENTITY’
PRIZE: The winning story of the contest will be produced as a film by Peregrine Film House (Production) WHILE the 1st runner up of the contest will be rewarded the sum of N25,000.00 Cash Prize.

Contest is open to ALL ages & Nationality. Submissions end on the 25th of February, 2017 and contest officially kicks off on the blog on the 1st of March, 2017.

While we anticipate the kick off of the contest, we are happy to announce the panel of judges who will be doing the selection of the best story in the contest, strong enough for our next Film project!
SIR ERIATA ORIBHABOR
Eriata Oribhabor is a poet, poetry promoter and initiator of Poets in Nigeria (PIN), a non-governmental, non-profit literary organization promoting poetry, connecting poets for greatness and initiators of Festival Poetry Calabar. He started writing poetry in the indigenous Nigerian Pidgin being standardized as Naija languej. Writing in the languej, he authored; “Abuja na kpangba and Oda Puem-Dem, edited “IF YU HIE SE A DE PRIZIN” (poems) and “AMEBO YAD” (plays) respectively. A former chairman, Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Abuja, Nigeria, Eriata is the author of the following poetry collections; Beautiful Poisons, CROSSROADS & THE RUBICON, That Beautiful Picture, Colors & Borders, ERIATA ON MARBLE (book of running lines), Editor, WUSHAPA – Beating the Drums of Peace (poems) and “Who Shall I Make My Wife?” respectively. He is a lover of the streets where he once hawked various items in Warri, South-South, Nigeria; his birth place.
DR. HENRY OBIDI
Obidi Emeka Henry PhD is the author of various award winning books including the 2005 west African Most explicit text book, Oral English Made simple. He is also a film maker, real estate and Human Resource management consultant. Henry is the CEO of Neg.V prime concept ltd and was recognized as the most outstanding entrepreneur in 2011 by the Nigerian Entrepreneurs Awards. He is the founder of Generation next Edutainment, a youth development organization that has positively affected the lives of youths since 2006. His personal life story was acted by Silverbird Tv as it is a huge motivation for youths. Henry is a minister of the gospel and a product of great grace.
Angelbert Chikere is a multi-talented philosopher, a freelance writer, poet and cartoonist. An active voice for Justice with Change Nigeria Organization and is currently toiling in furtherance of studies in the field of Ethics and Theology seeking Justice. His creative works have been published on several online media and one of his compilation awaits publication.
